Hello, my name is Heather and I am a fully qualified craniosacral therapist with many years of experience in complementary therapies. I practice from a log cabin in my garden at my home In Ballinger near Great Missenden.

I would like to offer our Ukrainian guests complimentary sessions so that they can experience this profoundly relaxing treatment, to assist in reducing stress and anxiety and helping well-being; both physically and emotionally.

Should you wish to book a treatment, or find out any more information, please contact me on 07815 437003 or email me on cranio@heatherhollett.co.uk or at heatherhollett.co.uk

I have put together below some information which I hope you might find useful.

CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle yet powerful type of bodywork that creates dynamic improvements in your life. It helps to release tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole body health and performance.

Few body structures have more influence over your health and well- being than the central nervous system. And few body systems have more impact on your central nervous system than the craniosacral system – which consists of the bones, soft tissue and fluid that surrounds your brain and spinal cord.

How could CranioSacral Therapy benefit me?

Every day we endure stresses and strains that our body absorbs. But it can only handle so much tension before our tissues begin to tighten or change. Other experiences, from physical injuries to emotional trauma can create or add to these restrictions. These may radiate out from the craniosacral system and compromise the function of the central nervous system and other areas of your body. Craniosacral techniques can release these tensions to allow the entire body to relax and self-correct. By freeing the central nervous system to perform at its best, CST can relieve pain and dysfunction from many sources, often uncovering and addressing the deeper causes of our symptoms.

Because it is so gentle, it is effective for all ages, from new-borns to elders. The types of problems we find people seek treatment for include stress and tension related disorders, musculoskeletal pain, migraines and headaches, brain and spinal cord injuries as well as many acute and chronic conditions.

In general, craniosacral therapy can improve our body’s ability to take better care of us. Like many alternative approaches CST can be useful as a preventative therapy to keep us in optimal health. It is not a substitute for proper medical care and if you have any concerns, we recommend consulting your medical practitioner.

Your session will take place in my treatment room. You remain fully clothed and relax on a comfortable treatment table. I begin by gently evaluating the rhythm and motion of your craniosacral system, gently listening with my hands to different parts of the body to locate areas of restriction, in body tissue or fluid motion, and trace their origin.

Delicate, precise and effective manual techniques are then used to help release body tissue in any problem areas. While many techniques are carried out from the head and lower back, we may work on other areas of the body.

Sessions usually last an hour. Your experience from a treatment is highly individual and often changes each time. Typically, people report feelings of warmth, softening and pulsating in the areas we are working on and generally they feel deeply relaxed.
