Hilltops Ukrainian Support Community was proud to take part in the Peace In The Park event in Chesham for the 3rd consecutive year! Our tireless team of Ukrainian and British volunteers came together to mark the occasion with other local communities and organisations, reminding everyone of the importance of cultivating a culture of peace (something that Ukrainians know better than anyone).

This year our stalls and performers have offered more than ever before. There were delicious baked goodies, heartfelt performances by youth groups and a distinguished opera singer. A violinist ignited the audience with famous Ukrainian tunes so people just couldn’t resist breaking into a dance. For those interested in the Ukrainian culture and traditions, there was a workshop on weaving wreaths using fragrant herbs and even an opportunity to purchase an embroidered traditional Ukrainian shirt. It seems that as a community we have done everything and more to achieve peace.

However, we are mindful that while we are working to bring the peace closer, many lives are still being destroyed. That’s why all proceeds from Peace In The Park event will go towards a rehabilitation camp for children from Ukraine whose parents have been killed or seriously injured in the war.
